Oficiul Avocatului Poporului, cunoscut și sub denumirea de Ombudsman sau Avocat al Poporului, reprezintă Instituția Națională pentru Drepturile Omului, o entitate instituțională independentă și imparțială cu misiunea de a proteja interesele și drepturile cetățenilor în fața abuzurilor și neglijențelor comise de autorități sau alte entități cu putere în stat.
