People's Advocate for Child's Rights
The People’s Advocate for Child’s Rights – also referred to as the Child’s Ombudsman or Child’s Advocate – ensures the nationwide implementation, by responsible officials at all levels, of the provisions of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and other international treaties in this area to which the Republic of Moldova is a party.
The People’s Advocate for Child’s Rights provides protection and assistance to the child upon the child’s request, without requiring the consent of parents or legal representatives.
The People’s Advocate for Child’s Rights is also authorized to act on his own initiative to assist a child in distress or at risk, without requiring the consent of parents or legal guardians.
